MATTHEW FILIPOWICZ was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and has been writing and performing comedy in one form or another since he was seventeen. Along with John Shay, he co-created Headzup, the world's first daily political cartoon created for video-enabled cell phones and the internet.

With more than 450 episodes in circulation, Headzup is syndicated across multiple outlets, including YouTube, Revver, Short Brain TV and GoLeft TV. His cartoons have been featured on CNN, NPR, the BBC, the online versions of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic and the London Times, as well as on Air America's Ring Of Fire, The Thom Hartman show, The Young Turks and throughout the blogosphere, including Crooks & Liars, Brave New Films, and Daily Kos.

He currently lives in Chicago, Illinois where he performs and screens cartoons every Saturday night with his comedy group, The Accountants of Homeland Security.
