Chances are you've never put Al Franken and "sexy" in the same sentence. Well, it's time to re-evaluate. Check out this priceless YouTube clip of Fran...
The web changed forever the moment that Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at President Bush. Or at least it changed for two or three days as the animated gifs and games flooded the Internet.
Some may call it propaganda but I call it hardcore reporting. If you are not watching Al Jazeera English's coverage of the War on Gaza, you are missing much, if not, most of the story.
The irony of a TVA cop giving us citations for criminal trespassing, even though we were in U.S. Waters, while islands of toxic coal ash were sitting behind him, did not escape me.
I've heard from several people that they want to start practicing yoga but don't know where to begin. It's no secret the benefits of yoga include but...
It's nice to see people being comfortable with who they are. Chip is inspiring Republicans around the country to stand up and say "We are white. We are racist. We are proud."
True Beauty follows a good-looking group who think they're competing in a beauty contest. What they don't know, is that the challenges are also testing them on their inner beauty.
Whatever the film's merits, I expect Revolutionary Road to do utterly dismal box office here on the home front.
In a story about potential vice presidential picks, the AP referred to Joe Lieberman as "the Democratic vice presidential prick in 2000."
TVA is telling the public not to worry, the water is safe, the coal ash is inert, but officials with TVA and EPA have already lost some credibility with the local residents.
Israel is occupying the West Bank (and effectively Gaza because they control the borders, the airspace, etc.). What are they going to do with it -- hold on to it forever?
Buzz-worthy afro-rock band, BLK JKS, are too big for one continent to hold. With an uber-hip look that seems just as essential as the music, the Johannesburg-based band is making waves worldwide.
Well, Obama has more than weathered a few highly-publicized controversies -- he has the highest approval rating for a president-elect in decades.

and the power is generated right where it is needed, so no wilderness is killed, no families are forced from their homes for the thousands of miles of new powerlines these mercenaries in Industrial Wind and Industrial solar are trying to force down our throats, and it is OWNED BY A PERSON, NOT A MONOPOLY. this story is a good starting point for people to recognize the drastic differences between Renewable Power (which doesn't kill ecosystems like our deserts) and FAKE renewable power which destroys 50 acres of open space per megawatt (Big Wind), sucks millions of gallons of water a year (Concentrated Solar), usually burns natural gas (Concentrated Solar) and requires GHG-spewing powerlines that cause wildfires, destabilize our grid and deny US the resources to generate our own power.
microwind and rooftop solar could easily be made affordable to all of us with a few simple policy shifts, which have been successful in 40 countries already: Feed in Tariffs, so we get paid for power we produce and do not consume; guaranteed financing attached to our property taxes; and generous subsidies and incentives to get the ball rolling. Big Energy enjoys all these perqs, plus has the power of eminent domain and gets our public land free or cheap. time to level the playing field!
Totally cool, but I sure would have liked to know the cost.
Is it very affordable for the average family or like solar panels exceptionally expensive? Every home being built today in the Southwest should be required to have solar panels.
Happy ..... Happy to see people like Jay Leno or anyone else who has the money to promote clean renewable energy... showing a new direction.
It is difficult for this to happen with the propaganda and repression going on everyday from oil, coal and nuclear industries. It is like trying to change the course of the Titanic...But there are a few heroes who are trying to do just that. Hurray for them!
CHEERS to Jay Leno and the many other celeb's helping promote renewable energy technologies. Imagine if every skyscraper in a major city were to install one of these systems on top of their buildings combined with a small green roof system. It might not change the world, but it's a pretty good start.
