He needs to be treated like any other murder suspect - if we had anyone else on video shooting a helpless man, they'd be in jail until they could post bail - and maybe not even then. Why is this guy allowed to merely resign?

This is wrong, and if it's taking riots to wake people up - guess that's what it takes!

No, Susan, no. Those poor businesspeople in downtown Oakland don't deserve this! They are barely holding on, trying to make a living and keeping our City alive.
Tell me: where do you live? Since you support rioting, maybe they should go riot at your house or business...

Write your congressman and senator and demand the arrest of Officer Johannes Mehserle for the murder of Oscar Grant.

This young man worked at my local market and was a nice, polite man. My husband made me watch this video and it shows clearly a murder. The Mayor and the Oakland Police Department must deal with the cold reality that this officer must be, for the good of the city, be prosecuted for this uncalled for heinous act. We are all tired of of REAL criminals hiring lawyers and getting away with murder. The fact that the Police Department NOR the mayor's office realized early on that this event was going to be seen nationally and cause a huge uproar, shows how lacking in leadership and good conscience they are. Ron Dellums needs to go, and this man, now a FORMER police officer, must go to trial or there will race riots and terrible terrible anger in the black community. Oscar Grant and his family deserve no less.
