These contests will help determine whether the party can hold off Republicans' attempts to seize back control of Congress, or add seats to the Democratic majority they gained in 2006.

As the manager of Obama's campaign, Plouffe steered the best-run presidential campaign in years. He efficiently matched man, message, money, and machine.
Stephen C. Rose, 11.19.2008
Plouffe would be a guarantee of smarts, a no-drama hand on the tiller, a likely tranformer of the Obama Movememt into a Democratic Party on steroids.
Ari Emanuel, 08.27.2008
Let's talk about Obama's energy policy and if it is the right step. Let's talk about the Iraq war and the war in Afghanistan and which candidate's choices demonstrated a greater quality of experience.

The DNC has committed an act of war. YouTube darling Harriet Christian fired back bullets of passion. Pretty? No. But she revealed the depth of frustration many people are feeling right now. That she did.
Michael Shaw, 08.27.2008
I'm concerned as to how the traditional media will frame Barack Obama. If the cover of TIME's convention preview is any indication, we're in trouble.
Ari Emanuel, 08.26.2008
I was watching MSNBC and CNN -- but it felt like ESPN. I could not believe the convention coverage: they were analyzing things as if it were college sports.
Danielle Crittenden, 08.26.2008
I realized last night we were witnessing something historic: Michelle Obama is the first woman to embrace/embody a post-feminist view of a presidential spouse.
Will Bower, 09.12.2008
What now? Our primary goal is to unite the millions of disaffected Democrats and to hold the DNC and its leadership accountable this November and beyond, working to defeat key players and create fairer elections.

Obama's win hardly puts an end to this system of racism, but it's still momentous, because it shows us a way forward, a way to reduce if not eliminate racial injustice and inequality.
Paul Begala, 08.26.2008
If the Democrats do not spend the remaining days of their convention -- hell, the remaining days of the campaign -- in an all-out assault on the ruinous Bush-McCain policies, they will lose.
Brad Friedman, 11.01.2008
Now that the touch-screen voting machine that Oprah voted on failed to properly register her vote on the screen, perhaps we may finally be able to get rid of these damned things.
Nora Ephron, 08.27.2008
The Clintons' narcissism perfumed every bit of Hillary's campaign, and it leaked down to her contributors and followers. "Were you in it for me?" was the funniest line of her speech.

I have been a liberal democrat al of my life and it makes me crazy to read all of these posts from people who are so proud to say that they never listen to an opposing point of view..Good God folks..do you not have any interest in what the other side has to say?? Jesus this arrogance of ignorance is just so non productive
MSNBC is the only cable news station that I will watch and that is only because of Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and David Shuster. I watched the "Morning Joe" show for a brief time when it first started but I quickly became disgusted with it as Joe Scarborough's arrogance and Republican leanings became very obvious and just too much to bare. I refuse to watch Scarborough any more and if I see his miserable, obnoxious face on the screen, I'll immediately switch channels.
Me too.
Me too.
MSNBC is my network & I don't have any problems with this. I like D Shuster, but "are you Rip Van Shuster?"...now THAT is funny!
Only thing is, I have watched Morning Joe before with MILF Mika & the gang winging it, waiting for Joe to stumble in, so that is a pot/kettle situation.
