The Obamas are equals, they balance each other, while looking in the same direction side by side. There is no competition. He is so proud of Michelle. And she beams with pride about him. I just do not know many Dads that fly come for a daughter's slumber party or hurry home to take their daughter trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Their kids absolutely adore their Dad. Lovely to see. He is just a plain nice man. I fear that he is going to burn himself out, trying to please everyone and make each and every person happy. Michelle must be quite a person to be willing to share Barack with the world. It is going to be fun to watch this develop. They listen to each other--and care deeply for their successes. I hope there will be many.

I cannot wait until January 20 see those lovely people walk up the front steps of the White House. Welcome home, dear people, and health and happiness to the entire family!

I really like this family, and seeing them interact with
their daughters is wonderful. I can't wait for them to
become our FIRST FAMILY officially.

Its not just the eye contact that is special, its the quality of the eye contact. Like he quote in the article said, you can't fake honesty. And, you can't fake respect, admiration, and authentic interest in the other. Those things arise from within your own heart/soul. The emotions we fake come from our heads. The Obama's use their heads to think and their hearts to know. When they look into each other's eyes they each see their own best self reflected back to them. That is the quality that is special, not just the eye contact.

Knowing others is intelligence
knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength,
mastering yourself is true power.

If you want to know me,
Look inside your own heart.

The Obama's embody these principles in their own relationship. Its beautiful to see.
